What is eExtension and why does it matter

Welcome to THINKeEXTENSION at WordPress.com. The first question to ask is what is eExtension? eExtension is the use of Web and Social Media tools to share and create Agricultural and/or Environmental knowledge. As the challenges facing Agriculture mount and the state of the Global Environment deteriorates, it becomes evident that we need new ways of doing things. Not only do we need new ways of doing things (Research and Development) but we need to have better methods adopted (Extension). If you are working in Agricultural, Natural Resource Management, or Environmental Extension you will know that R&D alone does not change much. It is essential to recognise that change is at times a slow process and it has a social, economic, and environmental context.
